Sandra Ribeiro

Sandra Ribeiro, got a Law degree and a postgraduate diploma in Labour Law and in Legistics (drafting of legislative texts), both from University of Lisbon/Law College. She got the Public Administration Top Managing certificate, from the National Institute of Public Administration (Portugal). She started her career in 1999 in a Private Law office, as a Barrister in Labour law, for Labour law issues; since 2003 she is public servant at the Employment and Vocational Training Institute, as legal officer for Labour law issues. From 2005 to 2010 she was advisor to minister for Labour law issues; between 2010 and December 2104 she was President of the Portuguese Commission for Equality in Labour and Employment (CITE). During 2015, she was coordinator of the legal advice and litigation team of the Employment and Vocational Training Institute; Between December 2015 and January 2017 she was advisor to minister for Labour law and Industrial Relations issues and from January 2017 to June 2018 she was head of cabinet of the minister of Labour and Social Security. From June 2018 and September 2020 she was the General Director of the Directorate General for Employment and Industrial Relations (DGERT). Currently, she is the President of the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG), in Portugal.
