Zuzana Brixová

Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family

Zuzana Brixová currently serves as the head of Gender Equality and Equal Opportunities Department at the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of Slovak Republic where she is responsible for the creation and implementation of state policies in the areas of gender equality. Her core priorities are tackling violence against women and domestic violence, easing women´s access to labour market and the reduction of gender pay gap. Her main area of specialisation includes EU constitutional law, non-discrimination and fundamental rights. In the past, she worked as the Director of the Department of Legislation and European Affairs at Slovak Bishop´s Conference, as Legal Counsel for ADF International and as the Chief State Counsel in the Office of the Representative of the Slovak Republic before the EU courts of the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic. She graduated with honors from the Master of Law program at KU Leuven in Belgium. During her studies, she did an internship at the European Parliament in Brussels and the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Warsaw.
