16 days of activism against gender-based violence
This year’s UNITE Campaign theme, “UNITE! Invest to prevent violence against women and girls,” called on citizens to showcase their commitment by sharing actions taken to create a world free from violence towards women. Additionally, governments worldwide were urged to demonstrate their investments in gender-based violence prevention. This annual international campaign, commenced on November 25th (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) and concluded on December 10th (Human Rights Day).
Athena actively participated in the campaign by leveraging its presence on social media platforms. Partners shared powerful photos holding posters with messages condemning gender-based violence in their respective languages. Athena symbolically changed its profile picture to orange, supporting the campaign’s visual identity. Throughout the initiative, the hashtag “#OrangeTheWorld” was consistently used across all social media posts to amplify the collective voice against gender-based violence.
