UB and ANES organised a workshop titled “Consultative Dialogue on the Development and Implementation of Measures to Promote Gender Equality”

The National Agency for Equal Opportunities for Women and Men (ANES) and the University of Bucharest (UB) collaborated to hold a workshop titled “Consultative dialogue on the development and implementation of measures to promote gender equality” in public and private institutions, on October 25.

The purpose of the workshop was to foster an environment conducive to the sharing of knowledge, dialogue, and discussion concerning the implementation of the principle of gender equality in Romanian institutions.

39 delegates from educational and research institutions, government institutions from various sectors, and non-government organisations and associations concerned with equality, diversity, and inclusion participated in the consultative debate (gender and not only).

Prof.univ.dr. Laura Grünberg, Director of the ATHENA project, presented, on behalf of the UB, the Gender Equality Plan approved by the University and highlighted the process of its development and implementation, as well as the obstacles encountered. In addition, other presentations illustrated implementation experiences and best practices.

Lastly, the open dialogue session highlighted thoughts, recommendations, and prospects for new collaborations to achieve the fundamental objective: fairness and equal opportunity for women and men.
