The Jan Kochanowski University of Kielce presented the ATHENA project during the Horizon Europe series of online trainings on Gender Equality Plans

As part of the Horizon Europe series of online trainings on Gender Equality Plans (GEPs), the Jan Kochanowski University of Kielce (UJK) presented the ATHENA project as well as their GEP. The training was aimed at Polish organisations.

Joanna Rudawska PhD, Gender Equality Ombudswoman, and Ana Kaminska PhD, ATHENA project coordinator, from the UJK team, shared their experience concerning their GEP in the framework of the ATHENA project and answered questions from Polish universities and public organisations. Throughout the workshop, the UJK methodology and priorities in the formulation of their GEP, objectives, and actual activities that the organisation is implementing were discussed. The presentation also covered the internal and external stakeholders involved in the university’s GEP, as well as their contributions to the implementation and monitoring of GEP activities, the difficulties encountered in implementing GEP building blocks and how they were dealt with. Finally, recommendations were made for other Polish organizations when setting up and implementing GEPs.
The online workshop was organised on April 28, 2022, by the European Commission, and counted nearly 50 participants from Polish universities and public organisations.

The European Commission is offering a series of online trainings on GEPs targeting the EU Member States and Associated Countries in which there are a larger amount of organisations concerned by the Horizon Europe eligibility criterion. Trainings have already been delivered to organisations established in Bulgaria (28 September 2021), Greece (9 November), Hungary (23 November), Croatia (8 December), Italy (28 January 2022), Bosnia and Herzegovina (23 February) and Romania (25 March).
