Policy Event – Final Conference: Advancing Gender Equality in Research: A Path to Excellence and Inclusion

The final events of the ATHENA project will showcase the results of this four-year initiative, providing a platform for high-level discussions on how to advance gender equality in research and innovation.

These events will bring together policymakers, researchers, and institutional leaders to present key findings, exchange knowledge, and propose actionable strategies to embed gender equality in research-performing and funding organisations.

Policy Event

The policy event, hosted by Member of the European Parliament (MEP) Paulo Nascimento Cabral, will present key recommendations from ATHENA’s work, emphasising the need to measure gender equality progress at the organisational level and its impact on research performance and excellence.

It will also explore the unique challenges faced by smaller, young, and remote research organisations and ways to support them.

Final Conference

The final conference will highlight ATHENA’s key achievements, lessons learned, and future directions, paving the way for the next steps in advancing gender equality in research and innovation.
